Wine and spirits

So one more question. Other than duty-free, are there any shops that have reasonably priced wine and spirits?

You may find some special offers on wine in some supermarkets (Mercato at Pavilion usually has some good offers - http://www.mercato.com.my/). There are some bottle shops in Brickfields that may have lower priced beers, spirits, etc. (e.g. Jalan Thambipillay). Alcohol is very expensive in Malaysia. There are lots of cheap spirits available but some of them are rather unrefined.

Define reasonably priced?  We non-Muslims pay a heavy "sin tax" on our alcohol in this country, but judicious shopping is possible, depending on where you are.

While some of the "local" spirits may be a bit unrefined, there are some quality spirits being made in Sarawak, but hard to find on the shelves.

Well, I'd start with anything less than what I'm seeing in the grocery stores. Alcohol is ridiculously expensive in Singapore, but there are some delivery services that offer occasional deals that make it a little less. There used to be a place in KL called Bottlez Houz that apparently had some deals like that, but it must have gone under.

As to local spirits, I haven't tried Malay versions, but the ones in Cambodia and Thailand are truly hangover inducing.

This business has good warehouse sales - https://www.facebook.com/Finesse-Wine-B … 144843578/
