Does anyone know roughly how many liters of water borehole hold's ?

Parison Francoise

What means borehole ?

Shands

A Hole bored into the earth to tap into water or oil reservoirs in and then pumped to the surface

Depends on the supply that the borehole taps into and then on the pump to bring the water to the surface

The volume of a cylinder is calculated with this formnula:

    V = π x r^2 x h

with V = volume, r = radius, h = height

Thus the volume of water in a borehole 20m deep and 20cm wide (thus r = 10cm) is 628 liters.

Right on! Way to go, Beppi :top:

ahhh very clever ;) Thank you x Now all i need to do is find the type measure lol

wow! the thread is so cool and mathematical to some extent.  :)

Supadave

Measure- try metric as its universal and the example above can be used as a guide.

If you use meters in your calculation then the answer (volume) is in cubic meters. You can then convert into liters. There are lots of calculators on the internet to plug in your measurements if maths aren't you're forte.

Sounds interesting! Thank you!  :top:

Btw Beppi , you already know - "Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but also supreme beauty" ~ Bertrand Russell  :top:
