I am a 62yo, fe, disabled veteran retired in Coamo. Los Banos!  Que marvillosa!  I am looking to build a tiny house (on a trailer) and travel the island!  I am into good food, good friends, good fun.   Hola!

Welcome Peg    That sounds like fun, or do like my surfer friend inPR did, he bought a nice used camper van.  He can live in on the beach.

Hi PegMcC54,
Welcome to the Forum,
As to the tiny house, how will you power it, or get water service?
You would need to plug in I guess in areas that cater to trailers. I have not been lived in PR in a while and I missed the Trailer phase so i am not sure how that works or if parks and recreations have facilities you can use while traveling the island.

As any construction I assume you will need the proper permits to occupy the property since you are not talking a preapproved standard trailer home.

The height of the house when on the trailer may be a problem driving it in some areas where electric cables, branches, and low bridges may become obstacles.

I guess you have looked into all of that.

I like the idea of building my own (or at least the design). That's why I want it on wheels!  Beach this week, mountain next, toro negro, guanica, farjado, aguada...

Looking at solar and wind (plentiful) for power, lots of new tech.  Water catching allowed. Not really a trailer or camper/rv,  a little bit more.

There is a small  RV dealer, in Anasco, on rt 115.

So you want the place to be self sufficient with solar and collected water. If you desing it, you are going to need permits to live in it and also will need a plate for it to go on the road. Not sure how all of that will work out

Working on it.  Checking ins and outs.  Not jumping yet.

Toro Negro is Awesome!
Which brings to mind something I was trying to get a bead on earlier this month.
I read something that said the Bosque National's would soon be shuttering their gates as the financial crisis in PR did not provide the funds to maintain them.
Anyone else hear something along those lines?
