Retiring To Ireland

I am an Australian citizen wishing to retire to the ROI. (see my surname for one reason why). As I won't be working the one place I have crossed off my list to move to is Dublin (due to cost). What are other places that I should investigate? Somewhere coastal is preferable but not absolute;y necessary.
