Does anybody know what nights they have the live bands here.  Cheers.

Thanks

So hard to find info about them really.  Everybody seems to know they exist but none of their own links work.  I know they are still going as our neighbours go there, but we don't really know the neighbours very well yet and don't like to ask to tag along, especially as they are teens (well, late teens) and it looks a little weird.

So hard for teens to meet others too.  Especially of similar interest.... made worse by the 'shy' factor that they seem to acquire..

hehe,  nope, not a teen, and wouldn't want to be one again but I do have one who is looking to meet other people with similar interests, hence the teens.  She will be at college but not until October so it would be good for her to meet people in the meantime.

"personally i've found it very hard to make new friends but also who i am has a big bearing on this".

??  Surely you can't be that bad...hehe.  Would you like to expand for the grey matter in my head..grin.

Also, I don't think the Maltese are unfriendly, I believe it to be more likened to the  'English reserve'.  They are incredibly warm and kind people in my experience, if perhaps a little shy and conservative at first.

hehe,  been there, done that.  I was also not part of the 'in' crowd due to my musical tastes and sense of 'fashion'.  But that was in the UK so even more judgemental.  I did grow up however very aware of not judging a book by its cover and I found the 'rock scene' people more open also.

I am incredibly fortunate with my kids, my daughter doesn't smoke, doesn't like to drink alcohol, and it not interested in drugs.. boy do I sleep much easier at night..  She does love to meet up and socialise though, she left a great bunch of friends in Spain, mostly Spanish, so is quite good at mixing with other cultures too.

Like you say, once she starts college it will be much easier but October is a long way off and its a long time to have no social life at her age.

We will persist and search out stuff she likes, not including forums though which is why I am doing the leg work here...hehe

Its not going to happen overnight but we will get there.  She is a little shy but not a recluse so it may just take a little time.

I would HATE to be that age again, puberty, boyfriend stuff...uurrgghh.  Glad to be past it.  Mid 20's to early 30's are the best.  Old enough to do everything and still young enough to enjoy it.  40's.... your head writes cheques your body cannot cash....grin.

If you want some live rock music this weekend, check out the Cindie Festival in Xemxija:

By happenstance, I have just moved to an apartment about 2 minutes walk away from Beachaven - it'll be interesting to see how much sleep I get over the weekend!
