GOOD DAY .HAVE MY SONE WHO IS 15 AND HAS DUEL PASSPORTS SOUTH AFRICAN AND PORTUGAL ONE .SOUTH AFRICAN ONE IS EXPIRING EARLY NEXT YEAR BUT GOT TOLD FROM EMBASSY IN LISBON THAT HIS SOUTH AFRICAN WAS NOT STAMPED ON ARRIVING IN PORTUGAL SO THEY CANNOT RENEW IT HERE I HAVE TO GO BACK TO SOUTH AFRICA ANY INFO PLEASE

Sounds like the embassy isn't understanding the dual nationality issue. There should be no need for the SA passport to be stamped, as he would/should have entered the country using his Portuguese passport. You might want to readdress the issue with the embassy.

Have you got in touch with the department that deals with Passports back in South Africa?

The passports are valid for 10 years from the date of issue, and are not renewable. When your South African passport expires you have to complete a new application to get a new passport. To apply for the passport, you must submit the following documents: A duly completed passport application Form DHA-73.

I told them that on various ocasions but they are persistent that I should of got both passports stamped first time I hear of this doant know what I'm going to do

Go to South African Embassy with the airplane ticket, that proofs he entered in Portugal. If they didn't stamp it at the airport. Try to go to the airport arrivals and explain them that they did not stamp the passport and you did not noticed. (Don't say he has a Portuguese passport). Just show them the ticket. Tell them the Embassy is requiring the stamp. Very strange that he did travel with a passport almost expiring. Usually you have to have 6 months before expiring to travel.good luck
