Best banks for foreigners in Saigon

Hi,

I am getting processed for a business visa which should enable me to open a bank account in Saigon.

Commonwealth is being acquired and I would prefer to not deal with Citi. Other than those banks, what recommendations do people have for who to bank with in Saigon?

As HSBC has it's Canadian HQ in your city, you might want to consider it. Getting money out of Viet Nam is difficult at present but things could change and having a dual banking relationship could help. Every bank has it's negatives. As an American, I still bank with Citi despite theirs.
