Sewer systems in Panama

Ok after visiting Costa Rica, I noticed that there sewer system is strange. Because the lines are smaller then normal, like in the states which are normally 6 inches for a septic system and larger to connect to the city's system.
What are they in Panama? And are fokes allowed to have septic ranks there? Is there a company that can drain the tank?
Most people will think these are weird questions, but we want to build our home and would like to know.

We live in David and have a septic tank. there are people to pump it out if necessary.
