Paying bills in Paraguay

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

What bills do you pay? If you are renting, are bills included in the price of rent, and is this common practice in Paraguay?

How can you pay your bills (e.g. online, at provider's store, at the post office)? Which is the most convenient or reliable way?

With what frequency are different bills sent in Paraguay? Are there different deadlines for payment?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

There are several methods for paying bills in Paraguay.

You can either pay directly at each of the service providers (ANDE, Essap, Copaco, etc).  However, more convenient payment methods are available such as bill payment stores such as Aqui Pago or Pago Express with locations all accross the country where you can pay almost any type of bills including electric, water, cel phone, tuition, etc.  You may also opt for automatic debit through your credit or debit card (you can request this at any paraguayan bank that issues the card).  Another convenient method is to pay online through a company called Pago Movil Infonet (infonet.com.py) where you simply register for free and select the bills you want to pay using credit card or other means.

Bills are not generally included in rental contracts unless you are renting an apartment in which case water bills are usually included.

Frecuency of service bills is monthly and each service provider has a different payment date.

Bills you would normally pay depends on what services you decide upon.  Usually they include Electric, Water, Telephone, Cel Phone, Cable TV, Internet Service, etc.  Other bills could include tuition for schools or universities, etc.
