does anyone have any experience of working at universities in kenya?
Are there many Westerners there?
What are the typical employment conditions (salary, housing, other benefits etc)?

Should I focus on other African countries instead if there is a better chance of getting a job elsewhere?

I have a PhD from an American university and many years teaching experience at universities.
My field is pharmacy/chemistry/biochemistry

Public universities here pay peanuts to their staff..but private universities do much better.

try checking out/googling/visiting the following universities(especially for your field.)

Aga Khan University
Mount Kenya University
Moi University
United States International University Africa(USIU-A)
