What is a decent salary?

Post new topic

Hi there
I'm new to posting on here. My husband has an inter company transfer offer to the GTA. The formal offer is due to arrive next week but he has been told that his salary would be a minimum of 80000 CAD with a company car. We are a family of 4 and wondered if in experience this would be a decent salary. This will be the minimum as i do intend on working (for my own sanity) but ideally would like to wait until our kids are settled.
Any help much appreciated.............

The average Canadian earns about $50,000 per year.

The average Canadian family of four earns about $75,000 per year.

However, these figures will vary widely depending on your profession/industry, years of experience, level of education, benefits package, and many other factors.

Location is also important. You will need to earn much more, for example, to live in Toronto or Vancouver which have higher living costs than most Canadian cities.
