Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Fiji, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Fiji?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

Hi,

I live on Taveuni  north of Somosomo and south of Matei.
The traffic here is generally light EXCEPT for in Nagara - the main
shopping area.  There, the traffic is heavy with  little parking and
cars double parked or stopped to "talk" to another driver.  It is
especially so on Tues. and Sat. when the ferry comes laden with
supplies and purchased goods.  There are many more vehicles
on the road on Taveuni now.

Often, going from our home to Matei, we will see only a few cars
in either direction until we get past the airport where the traffic
is slightly more.

On the few occasions I am in Suva,  I find the traffic busy and driver's
are not courteous but always trying to be the first one.

I only drive when necessary.
