Temporary move to Australia

I have been granted PR to Australia, and i will move to Australia soon for temporary stay. I will spend a week and later i will move permenantly. Is it preferable to apply for medicare in the first move, or when i come to live permenantely? I would appreciate your response.

You need a permanent address for them to send the card to.

I have heard of people that did this, but never received the card in the post. After returning to Australia later, they ended up having to apply again.

I would wait till you settle here.
