Hi Ngozi,
I will try my best to give information about banking system in DRC.
DRC has its own currency called Franco. However, for buying and selling activities, people also use US Dollar as the currency. There are many foreign banks in DRC. Trust Merchant bank (TMB) which still has relation with Citi Bank, Rawbank, Bank of Africa, BIAC, and many more. For me, I use TMB as my account. And I also use their service to transfer money to my country. Using this bank is cheaper than using the Western Union.
I wish it can help you..
