Living outside of our home country requires us to adapt to a new culture and different traditions. What are some of the cultural specifics in Norway?

What are some of the traditional beliefs and cultural practices that you have encountered in Norway that are different to your home country?

Fireworks on New year eve. I don't mean the authority putting up fireworks but everyone or anyone can buy lots of fireworks to put up on new year eve. Apparently it is the only day that everyone can buy firework. It was really fun to go outside and watch because firework is illegal in my country. It is absolutely beautiful to watch. Especially if you go up to a mountain where there are lots of houses. You can practically sit there for hours and watching endless fireworks.
