If you want to live on the coast, then Tamarin or Flic en Flac are the best options and in reasonable commuting distance of Ebene. The only other real option by the sea is Albion, which is a bit closer, but not as popular with expats.

You can drive on any of the licences you hold no problem.

Concerning your License query: If you are a holder of a British driving license, then you can drive freely in Mauritius !

Welome to Mauritius!!! I too have moved to Mauritius along with my family after living in UAE for many years. Quatre Bornes would be ideal for you as it will be only 5 minutes drive to Ebene. There are many Indian families living in Quatre Bornes.
