I would also like to know how to relocate a pet here. We want to bring over our German Shepard and was wondering the best way to do this and an idea of the costs involved.

I can recommend Fur & Feathers. Mrs Inge, 36464586. It's a registered company specialising in relocation across the globe, with special services for dogs, but also cats, birds, rabbits and so on.

Hi guys, I brought my 3 dogs over from the UK in august 2017. It was a very easy and smooth process.
Where are you bringing your pets from?
I can give you info on what is needed on both sides.

Hi

You'll require an import permit that needs to be obtained personally in bahrain. I recommend you to use a local pet relocator.

Also try Bed & Biscuits and Delmon pet re-locators.  I have heard good things about the first one.

We are considering bring our 3 dogs from the US over with us. How hard is it find quality housing with dogs?

tombola51

There is plenty of housing here. Landlords are very accepting of dogs.

fhaentjens1975

Hi nervous. What do you mean with housing for dogs? Like kennels? I'll send you a private message.

XTang

No, the poster means housing which is accepting of pets and specifically dogs.

It varies from place to place and building to building.  But generally it is not that difficult to find.  Some landlords are accepting and some are not.  Depends on the area you choose to live in.   Recommendation would be to live in a villa as there is enough space for pets as well as less issues with landlord and other neighbors.

Hi ... first I thank the community on expat.com for sharing experiences here.
I have few days back moved into Manama. The apartment is not dog friendly. I shall be moving my family which includes a one and half year Yellow Labrador. He is a cute and reasonably obedient dog. I am searching for a dog friendly fully furnished accomodation with a budget of BHD 600- 650 all inclusive. I have office in Bahrain Financial Harbour area and would  commute by Taxi. I Ineed your expert advice on following-
1. Is any good residential area/ building with nice dog friendly apartment/villa which fits in my requirement.
2. How difficult it is to take out dog for a walk morning and evening (apart from excercise  he will clean his bowls too)
3. Do vet doctors come to home, if needed.

All suggestions and comments are welcome.

I would suggest renting a small villa rather than an apartment. Pets are not suited for apartments, and your neighbors may not be accepting.
