Taxes on rental income from United States in Denmark

Hello everyone!

Hope you had a good weekend. I live and work in New York but trying to move to Copenhagen via the points based green card scheme.

I have been researching on taxation in Denmark and had a pretty specific question. I own a rental property in New York and will be receiving rental income while I am in Copenhagen. Would I be paying US taxes or Danish? I read the tax treat between the two countries and it was not very clear, though my initial understanding is I will not be taxed in Denmark if I am paying US taxes. Can someone confirm?

Also separately, does anyone know which income streams (rental, dividends etc) are preferred for an US expat if you wish to pay lower taxes in Denmark? I appreciate the Danish social security model but since I will be looking for a job for first few months I want to minimize my tax expenses during that period.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
Best,
Neil
