The best apps for expats in Japan

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello,

We invite you to share information regarding some of the apps that have helped to facilitate your move abroad in Japan. This will help expats-to-be who are making the move as well.

Which apps did you use while preparing your move to Japan?

What apps do you use the most for your everyday life in Japan: whether it's for transport, managing finances, general information, learning the language of your host country, leisure activities, etc.?

How does this technology help you in your everyday life as an expat?

Which apps would you recommend to expatriates in Japan and why?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

We recently visited Japan for 2 weeks and used Google maps to navigate bus and train lines (sometimes doesn’t work well for bus lines but usually works great for train).

I heard some of my expat friends also use Navitime for getting around.

Google translate worked occasionally (was helpful at the bus stop trying to find out what days/times the buses ran).
