Hi all,
Newbie on the Mongolia forum? Dont know how to start?
This thread is for you
We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country, or to tell us more on your expat projects in Mongolia if you are planning to move there.
It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.
Welcome on board!
Hello. I'm currently living in Mongolia and working at the University of Finance and Economics as an English Language Fellow. I like Mongolia, but haven't found a great way to meet people outside of work (all married with young children and overworked!).
I'm dying for some fun/friendship.
Please share if there's anything interesting happening (trips outside of the city, game nights, drinks at a pub, whatever, music, whatever!).
Thanks,
Jeff Arrigo

Hi Julian
I can't help with the teaching, but I do have a job that needs doing in Ulan Baatar, and you will have great skills for it, as it is about checking out an examination centre. The job is about 3-4 hours in total, and pay is $100. Would you be interested? At least it will help you live for a few extra days ;-). I have advertised on this site, but I still need someone if you can assist?
Please email me back for more information. Payment is by bacs into your bank account.
Regards
Rena

Hello everyone, im considering a job offer in Ulanbaator at the moment. Considering relocating there and how much would be worth it to make the move. Also i hear its unbearable in winter. Would love to hear from those who been there a while over 1 year.

Hi All:
I'm new comer to UB just 2 weeks. I'm from Ethiopia and will stay 1 year may be more. I already rent an apartment. But I need expat friends.
Thanks,
Hello,
First of all, welcome to Mongolia and hope, you will find here what pushed you to come here. Just wanted to warn you about our winter... which is very cold, very long and dark, very smoggy so you would not be able to open your window to get some air in...
If you are going to work in the countryside, the quality of air in winter might be slightly better, but you will still feel that bitter cold and pollution which would irritate your respiratory organ...and cause all discomfort of long winter season...
Good luck to you!
Oyunaa
Hi Rena,
Are you still in a search for a mystery shopper in Ulaanbaatar?
Thank you for your reply in advance,
Oyuna
Hi everyone and welcome to Expat.Com,
Oyuna, all vacancies available are posted in the Jobs in Mongolia section, so i suggest that you have a look at that section to know whether the job offer is still open.
All the best,
Bhavna

Hi Angie
Thank you for getting in touch. I am based at City Center. I have 5 wonderful staff and they have made me feel very welcome. We are looking at a new office to move to in 2019.
Hi im mongolian. But lives in spain. I have some notice for u all.
1. In mongolia people usually use fb, then u can find friends and some groups for hiking or meetings. So first open fb account. Kkk means hahaha
2. Its hard to find job in mongolia. Cuz mainly mining section proffessional people has good salaray. First have to find job from international company in ur country to work in mongolia. Then u will have enough salary. Otherwise here salary is so low.
3. About shopping its hard for foreigners. Cuz if there isnt price written, dont buy. Here mongolians will say double price for foreigners.
All this problem happened to me cuz my husband is foreigner. I think mongolia is good for travel not for living for foreigners. Cuz soo big problem is winter kkk zaa sorry for saying bad news, goodluck for everybody
