Hi, everyone! I am considering to move to some Scandinavian country or to some Scandinavian community in USA. I studied Software Engineering and basic Digital Systems. I train people to take the GRE, GMAT, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS; and, similar tests.

I would like to know more about housing, job opportunities for English speakers or anything else you might consider helpful.

Hey,
I'm Manisha - a 27 year old from Canada. I recently moved to Sweden to work at a Wildlife Research Station. I'm not based in any large city - the biggest nearby would be Örebro.
So far I like it a lot - it's a beautiful country :) The hardest part is getting over all of the bureaucratic hurdles but they are also slowly working out. I'm excited to see more of the country and learn the language.
I'd really like to join clubs and activities to make friends and develop my hobbies. I enjoy cooking, crocheting, dancing, hiking and sports. I also don't mind trying something completely new! If anyone knows of how to get involved in these sorts of activities, I would really appreciate the advice.

Hello,
I am currently in high school and moving to Sweden from the US. I was wondering how my schooling would translate to the Swedish school system. Specifically math. I just finished freshman year here and understand that I'll be going to gymnasium but I don't understand where I would stand in school. Currently I'm at the top of my class and two years ahead in math (Algebra 2). Would I be ahead or behind on math over there?

Hej Hej,

I’m from South Africa, planning to move to Östersund Sweden to be with my partner.

I currently have a really good job in South Africa, and understand that I might not be able to work in the same field in Sweden, so I am looking to broaden my horizons and learning about the Swedish culture and language, as a first point of call. Thereafter,. I’d like to transition into the working environment, perhaps in a different field to my current expertise.

Is Sweden an entrepreneur friendly country? What are some of the key considerations before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey?

I’d love to make friends and hear about your transition into the Swedish society.

Thanks
S

Hello everyone,

I will be moving to Sweden in the next couple of months from Turin (Italy), a company relocation for work on a permanent basis. My place of work will be Överum but from Google maps, I've seen that the closest city/twon to live looks like is Västervik.  Can anyone of you please suggest me how is the city Västervik to live in?  Maybe there are other better beautiful town/cities nearby which I don't know. Obviously, I don't know and would like to know from the local Swedes living in the nearby areas living or any other expats who are living closeby

I've read that majority of Swedes speak English but is it the case also with this city/town? how is the city in general, public transportation to Överum ecc or to travel nearby using bus or trains? is the city buzzing or really dull?

Also, if anyone know any other cities nearby within a radius of 80 kms from Överum to live and is really good in terms of all amenities, supermarkets, restauarants, events ecc for the youth (cause I'm young as well  :) ), please let me know. will be really helpful.

Hello,
I am considering moving to Sweden in the foreseeable future but before doing so I need to find a job there. I am an Area Sales Manager and Sales Supervisor in a cosmetics company. I am also a trainer in my field. I look forward on finding helpful insights about job offers.

katrintroeva

Hi all,

I'm Katrin, from Bulgaria.

I moved to Sweden 8 months ago to be with my boyfriend who is having his PhD at Dalarna University.

Currently, I live in Borlänge and work for a Swedish startup in Stockholm.

I love Sweden for its people and how everyone is polite and helpful. I love the nature here and most of all how I can see raindeers in the forests. Before coming here, I was studying in Aalborg, Denmark and nature was the one thing that I was really missing there.

Everyone who is planning to come to Sweden, won't regret doing it. The country is worthy of just visiting it or staying long term. The living standard is nice as long as you have a job. It's definitely way better than in my home country Bulgaria :D The bureaucracy here is a bit complicated and slow if I compare it to the one in Denmark, but it's bureaucracy, so it's normal to give you a headache :D

Anyway, I am a friendly and positive person who likes going out for a coffee or a walk, meeting new people and learning more about different cultures.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Sweden, or just want to become friends. :)

B.Szentjobbi

Hello everyone, my name is Boglarka.

I am Hungarian, but was born in Transylvania, Romania. I will be visiting Sweden at the beginning of November for a week, then will be living around Trollhattan from end of January until end of April.

If you know any kind of temporary jobs that I could do by that time I would be very grateful for. I have over 6 years experience in childcare (I was living in London since 2011 until now), also I have a BA degree in Communication and PR, working as a freelancer writer now (content-, copy-, creative writer). But really anything that is available, I am happy to be a waitress, or even to work in gardening if there is a possibility.

It also would be nice to make some friends while I am there so if you are living close to Trollhattan please feel free to contact me, I love outdoor activities, hiking, walking, riding, etc.

Hope to see you soon :)
