Salary for teachers in private primary school

Hi I went to a private school for teachers job ,I told them that I do have residence permit but not the work permit ,so they told me that as an expat if not having work permit they will give me 4K -5K but if I have the work permit then they will give me 8k to 9 K .So please anyone help me regarding this and also how can I get a work permit

1. How did you get your residence permit?
Spouse of a professional or investor on an Occupation Permit?
or spouse of a Mauritian ?

2. If you don't have a work permit, how can that school offer you employment ?
Will they apply for a work permit on your behalf to  the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment .?

The Non-Citizens (Employment Restriction) Act

The employment Non-Citizens is governed by the Non-Citizens (Employment Restriction) Act. It is stipulated therein at section 3(1) that a non-citizen shall not engage in any occupation in Mauritius for reward or profit or be employed in Mauritius unless there is in force, in relation to him, a valid permit and he engages in the occupation or so employed in accordance with the conditions which may be specified in the permit.
