Dear Priscilla

Please find below the answers to your questions.

1. What are the types of jobs that are easily accessible to expats in China?
Mainly it's English teaching jobs. Other than that I noticed that there are translation/interpreting jobs as well mainly attached to European languages.

2. What are the ones most in-demand for expats?
Again, it's English teaching.

3. Which industry and/or jobs have limited workforce?
Procurement, supply chain (lean manufacturing/consulting), international business

4. Are there any existing surveys, data, or reports done regarding this topic in China?
Not many to my knowledge. I read few articles on linkedin written by Mr. Christian Lepord at Hays recruitment agency. Other than that there are very limited resources on this.

On top of the above points, I personally have experienced that there's a very big demand from foreigners to come to China and gain work experience in different industries due to China's enormous sourcing/manufacturing sector and increasing middle-class population. But it is very challenging as there is no professional recruiters specialised in this sector as well as local legal structure constraining this. I myself am in the same situation. I have considerable work experience and a sound academic background but I'm still struggling to find a proper job in China for the last 3 months.

Thanks
Clarence Rodrigo

Dear Madam,
Thank you for asking this very important question. Though I am only 5 months in China to know the most demand in job, I would say that English Teaching is one of the most needed and available job for expats. For those of you who might speak Chinese, Translation and interpretation would also be another area to look for.

Best Regards,

The most needed positions are in the educational field. To quality, you need a university degree, an ESL diploma and two years teaching experience.

Th highest paid are those related to industry and factories. expect a minimum of 30 years industry experience on top of a university degree.

That is the way it is.
