Possible Scam

Post new topic

Dennis8888

I am a registered expat.com. user.
Yesterday I received an hatsup  on my mobile as follows:

From: + (401)342-4648
"Hello Applicants I'm Steve Thomson Im a Recruiting officer here in Winco Foods Supermarket  located here in Texas USA. I got your contact from www.expact.com. We need urgent applicants here in Texas USA. So I got your contact to know if you are interested. If yes we will proceed with further process"

Besides other concerns  +401 is Rhodes Island not Texas.

Proceed at your own risk.  Dennis

expat.com does NOT pass contact details to dodgy iphone sellers, more so when the fool can't even manage to spell the site correctly.
The same guy uses the name, Adam Freddie to conduct job scams.

No 'possible' about this scammer.

Fred

I can see where he got your contact details - you posted them.

The forum has a strict rule about sharing contact details on the open forums to stop these types of scams but, sadly, you ignored the rules so left yourself open to con men.

Expats are often seen as easy targets as we're often considered well off and easier to con as we're unfamiliar with our new place, that explaining the rules we enforce.

Hi Dennis Louw,

Do note that all information of our members are strictly confidential and we do not pass on any contact details of our members to other people.
That scammer should have seen your contact details on the forum before they got moderated or should have seen your contact details here : https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/africa/ma … nager.html , these are the only possible explanation.

I would advise you to ignore that email.
If you also think that this member also have an account here, i invite you to report it directly and we will take care of the issue.

Feel free to PM me for further assistance.
For now, i am closing this thread.

Thank you,

Priscilla
