Village/small towns to retire in north of Alicante.

mikebrealey

Hi, I am looking to move/retire to Spain, and would like to find a village, small town north of Alicante, with a local/expat community.
I am visiting the area in April, and wonder if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks

Lots around here, inland Alicante. We're in Pinoso, stacks of Brits in Sax, Hondon de los Frailes and Hondon de las Nieves.

Javea and Moraira are the nicest we've found in 16 months living here, having looked from north of Valencia down to south of Alicante. A good mix of expats, much more attractive than many other places, good restaurants, lots of activities, very convenient for sea and main roads. BUT - they are pricey compared to further inland.  Check sites like kyero and idealista to compare like for like.

NB - watch for damp and mould signs and be aware it does get cold  enough in winter to require heating.

Thanks Chris
I  really meant to say  west of Alicante, not too many expats, and a more traditional town or village away from the coast.

Your place looks nice, and we shall have a look there in April when we come over for some research.
Thanks again

Mike
