Sending money to home country on Work Visit visa in Saudi Arabia

Is it normal for anyone to stay and work on work visit visa in KSA? Will there be any difficulty in renting a room or sending money to home country since i wont be able to open a bank account in KSA and will be paid in cheque for my services in KSA

A lot of people do this.  The easiest situation is where you are resident in another GCC country like Bahrain or UAE and commute to Saudi for work. 

You can rent rooms with few exceptions such as compounds where they ask for an Iqama.

For money, if you are paid by cheque, make sure it is made out to cash.  Otherwise you won't be able to encash it.  You can send money home from any exchange after showing your passport - if they create problems, you can always have a friend send it using their Iqama.
