Regular coffee meetups for new people in bahrain.

The Coffee meetup is a networking event for which happens on fortnight or weekly basis based on the demand for this event. As far as the experience goes, we see people from all backgrounds, nationalities and professions participating in these events and we encourage that. The tone of these meeting is decided by the participants, really. The first coffee meetup, on the 1st of Jan 2011, we had about 12 members. We have had several coffee meetups since then, some announced publicly, some conducted privately. The members are encouraged to invite and bring friends. The cost of the meetup is only the coffee or snacks you order. Photo graphs from some of the coffee events are available on the below link.

We see that regular members benefit in many ways. They establish friendships which helps seeking job or business opportunities. We do not have a stiff format, the benefits derived from these meetups depends on each individuals.

Some individuals do invite participants to these meetups through linkedin.com and find a neutral plaftorm to establish business or personal relationships. Hope this answers your questions, if you need to know more, feel free to call me.

You may want to join this group to access all the information on other activities we do.

We also have an active book club, an entrepreneurship group. There is no limit to what you can do. The more you participate, the more visible you are and opportunities will flow to you. I would be glad to start any new initiative with you if you so will in this group. We have many ideas going on currently.

I heartily endorse Abid's post.  While in Bahrain in March a friend and I went to a coffee meet-up and met Abid and others in an informal and relaxed way and I found myself wanting to go back to meet more people afterwards.  I think it's an excellent way to get to meet people in Bahrain from all walks of life and if I get to move there I plan on being a regular attendee.

By the way Abid, you know me as Brian ;)
