Hello

I was hoping to get some information from anyone who has had experience looking for employment in Mauritius whilst living abroad. How difficult is it to obtain employment contracts living outside of Mauritius? If anyone out there has any tips or suggestions or knowledge to share, would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for something in sales/marketing management, specialising in building craft liquor brands with international experience, UK and SA.

Thank you

Hi Karen,

You will find some related threads on the forum.

Have a look at these :

- What are the dos and don'ts of finding a job in Mauritius?

- The jobs that are the most in-demand for expats in Mauritius

Also, it might be easier to land an opportunity if you are fluent in both French and English.

all the best,
Bhavna

Thanks so much. I'll look into it. Will have to brush up on the French :-)

It's a bit tough to get a contract for a foreigner, because there is a mandatory salary level  which is designed to ensure it's mainly high level, highly skilled workers who are coming from abroad that can qualify for a work permit.

But having said that, i see a lot of expats moving here regardless so there must be a market for expats to work here.

I think your best bet would probably be in the hotel industry or one of the big corporations like Pheonix Beverages.
