We've applied for work permit in January 2018

Hi everyone,
I'm new on this site. My name is Attila and I live in Calgary,Canada with my wife Evi.
We,ve applied for work permit in January 2018. It was submitted in middle of March so now we are waiting for the answer.
If we don't get it we are thinking about to buy an income property. Do you know if I need work permit for it?
