Employment pass to dependent pass conversion.

Hi,

I am an Indian working in Penang. My contract is coming to an end this month (30 April 2018), and so is my Employment visa. My company has already initiated the EP cancellation process. My husband is also working in Penang, and his employer can provide me dependent pass. Is it possible to get dependent visa without exiting Malaysia? What is the processing time?

Your husband's salary has to be minimum RM5000 per month to get you a DP.

Yes. You should hurry up and apply immediately or you will have to exit as not having any valid visa.

Hopefully your name is in his passport.

Hi Gravitas,

Thanks for the reply. Actually initially I came to Malaysia with my husband on Dependent visa. I found a job and converted my visa to Employment pass. Now my contract is getting over and cancellation process already started by my employer. Just wanted to know, can my employment pass be converted in Dependent pass without me exiting Malaysia. Or do I need to go back to India to apply for Dependent pass?

You need to apply for DP again and before your EP expires to avoid having to leave Malaysia
