Dear all

My children will be moving to Islamabad or Karachi in the next few years, and I am searching for a British curriculum school (run and taught by British qualified teachers) in either Islamabad or Karachi. I have been looking at some websites and some of the fees are ridiculous, hugely overpriced. Please can you recommend any international schools, which are ideal in either of these cities.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

  Welcome to Pakistan.
Kindly first decide whether you are moving to Islamabad or Karachi. Distance between both cities are approx. 1500 KM and both are entirely different.
I can only guide for Islamabad, there are a lot of schools at Islamabad which offer British curriculum and similar quality as well. One of top schools are curriculum and roots where my family members are studying. Froebel’s and the city school is also one of the best.

Yes, you are right! schools fee is quite high since I believe that schooling became a business.

I firmly believe that the best of bests schooling doesn't matter a lot. You can choose any good school based upon your budget and rest is your struggle with your kids for grooming. I can justify :)

Hi Mubashirse
Thank you for your reply. To be honest,  we are still deciding whether it will be Islamabad or Karachi. Personally, I am more inclined towards Islamabad.

Thank you for the feedback and list of schools. Do you know if these schools qualify a student enough to apply to universities worldwide or just in Pakistan? Are any of your relatives studying at universities abroad and who also went to these schools?

Completely agree with you as most of the effort and support of parents allow a pupil to succeed. The school system does sound like a business and hence I am just getting my head around the amount of fees they want. The International school of Islamabad looks great, however, again not worth the fees!!

Hi BriExpat77,

I hope you would decide to go to Islamabad since its more peaceful and healthy as compared to Karachi.

Yes, I know many of my cousins, friends and colleagues studied from there and they are at best places and they got admission easily at Australia, Canada, Germany etc..

You can select schools based upon your budget. I wont say you must go to expensive schools only. There are average schools which provide high quality education as well. And believe me, schools doesn't matter a lot.

I know people who studied from Government schools, colleges and universities and they are British, American, Swedish national. All are my family members which I am talking about  :)

First confirm you plan for Islamabad. Then I will guide you through the locations and list of very good private schools as well.
