Post new topic

Moving to San Juan in May. USAA only covers active duty military and I’m now retired so I need a new insurance company. Would be interested to hear reviews from expats.
Thanks!

When you get your marbete, you can select from a list of a half dozen or so insurance companies (liability only). The fee for that insurance is included on your marbete fees. If you want anything more comprehensive, you can contact any of those companies (We used Mapfre) for better coverage.

They will finance a car in the island, but won’t insure it. I was surprised because all my vehicles and house in the mainland had been insured by them. Did got a great rate on a car finance here thou.
We did the full coverage thru MAMPRE(?), had to used after the hurricane and the service was excellent.
