Eye surgery

Post new topic

Anyone know of a competent eye surgeon and contact details, guess Santiago is the only place,  really need cataracts dealing with .
Unfortunately don't have health insurance so I'm going to have to pay still is better than losing your eyesight.
Anyone have any knowledge of how much cataract surgery would cost for both eyes?

Sebastian Guzmann, Clinca Coriminus, Calle Restorcion, Santiago.  My spelling probably is incorrect, however, the names are as they sound. Without doubt, the best in the DR.  With cataract surgery, they only do one eye at the at a time.  I had laser tacking, a lens replacement & a lens re-positioning.  State of the art facilities & procedures.

Ok thanks for that, any ideas of approx cost per eye?

Sorry, no idea.  I had insurance then, my out of pocket was less than $1,000USD. My sugery was much more complicated & required being put under.  Cataracts use a local & takes about 20 t0 30 minutes.  Plus no downtime. The next day you have excellent vision.  Lots of different eye drops for a couple of days ,but that's it.  Good luck, get it done soon. You'll be very happy with the results.

I can tell you what  a top specialist's cost is in FL.  $7000 for both eyes with the latest generation lenses.
That figure is from 12/18

He is one of the best in the DR. There is no price too high to pay to see.  Look around, you can find cheaper, wy cheaper in the teaching hospitals.
