Hi, I'm vegetarian, like to cook my own food but struggling to find supermarkets with much of a range. Co Op is the best so far but still pretty lacking. Just a few tins of chickpeas, frozen spinach, lentils etc would be a great find. Any ideas?

Check out Citimart, they sell tins of chickpeas, lentils etc. Certainly the one in d2 does.

Not too sure if you'll find frozen spinach tho, I'll look out for it.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Yesterday I was at the Co Op and I found a tin of "Canned Pork Vegetarian"!! hilarious. The ingredients are in English and it really is vegetarian....I have no idea why the would want to add the 'pork' part on the label though. I'm yet to try it.

Metro has a fairly wide variety.  They are in D2 and D6.  You need a memebership, or your passport can get you a one day pass.

Big C is another option.

I was very impressed with the Lottemart on 3 Trang 2 in D10 also.

There's really no "one-stop shopping" store anywhere in Saigon. To find everything you want, you typically have to go to 2-3 or more stores in one trip. I live in Q7, and shop mostly at Co-op Mart, but also use Fivimart and Citimart. Once a month, I will make a run over to Q2 and pick up anything else I need at Metro and An Phu Supermarket. Anything else not found at one of those 5 places can usually be found at Veggies (I go to the one at the corner of Thi Sach and Le Thanh Ton streets in Q1, but they have other locations as well). Keep in mind that Veggies will be the priciest of all places, in my experience, so I only go there for highly special occasions.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Yes, it seems that there isn't a one-stop shop for all groceries. Until I'm brave enough to get my own bike, I might just have to make do with what's around me. Thanks again.

Just in case you are lazy to cook in the evening, you can check Sen - a veggy restaurant in Dist 1, Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. There are dozens of other restaurants nearby where you can drop by.

Hi,
if you look  for a good supermarket with a good range and of specific organics food, you can test Annam Gourmet market in Hanoy down town.
Bye and thank you to let me know your feeling.

Shopped at Maximart today in dist. Tahn Binh. They have a wide variety that makes me a happy shopper.

Check out the imported food market at 58 Ham Nghi & 60 Ham Nghi .

I always get something i cannot find in Co Op or Citimart.

Lentils & Chickpeas.

They even have chickpea flour!

Sometimes this place is more expensive than Annam Gourmet Market, so i always compare.

And I found ANTS in a bag of muesli, so i'll have to give you heads-up to that :)
