Overstay in Bahrain

Post new topic

Jenylis Lisa

I entered Bahrain on a Visit Visa that expired on 24 May 2018.

An employer had applied for my work visa on 13 May 2018 (11 days prior to the expiry of Visit Visa) and canceled it on 29 May 2018.

I am unable to extend my Visit Visa as the sponsor is traveling overseas.

I have a valid multiple entry visa for Saudi.

Would anyone know the overstay penalty/process that I have to pay at the Causeway when I exit? I need to exit asap.

Thanks!

Lisa

I would suggest to go to immigration main office and settle the issue there.  They have recently changed the rules and don't let you exit until you have rectified the status.  However, it is a bit arbitrary as some people have been allowed to exit and others haven't.  So to avoid any issue, suggest to do the above.

Thanks @Xtang

I went to the NPRA this morning and they said the visa is valid until 8 June'18, which we believe the Visit Visa MAY have automatically extended for 10 days as a grace period to find a new job or exit the country.

Phew! that was a relief. :)

Lisa
