Hello all. Ahlan wa sahlan.
I'm an American-Egyptian. I'm currently living in New York City. I'm married to an Egyptian and we now have a 10 month old daughter. Now I'm studying for my master's in elementary childhood education, and have been student-teaching for a full school year. My wife and I have been discussing moving to Cairo. I've never lived there although I do visit it every year for about a month or so each time. What are your opinions on life in Egypt? I especially would like to know the opinions of those who have lived in America as well. My major concern with Egypt is the healthcare. How is it possible to live healthy in Egypt? Which locations are the best to live in that are removed from the pollutions of Cairo? What about hospitals and doctors? How is it possible to get high quality healthcare (doctors, hospitals, clinics) in Cairo? I would gladly like to hear what you know regarding this topic. On another note, if any one here is also an elementary teacher or works in an elementary school in or around Cairo, do you know of any good openings for me to work? I would appreciate all the help and information you are able to give.
Thanks very much,
Adam Hassan

Hi Adam,
I hope we say "Welcome to Egypt" soon or "Welcome in Egypt", as some Egyptians say.

Schools in Cairo is the part I can help u with, as I'm an Elementary English teacher in an internationak school in Maadi. My advice is that u should be here in Cairo around this time of year to find a job in an international school. most schools set their staff by beginning of June, at most. So u should hurry up and apply. If u have got a master's degree then many schools would be happy to employ u with a decent salary. If u can't be here in cario soon then I advise u to start applying online now. Take a look at schools online and i could give u my opinion about the schools that u like. Start as soon as possible to guarentee a better position and salary.

Finally, I have to say, I know America is a beautiful country and it is more advanced than Egypt, however, I love Egypt. There's no place like it in the world and u'll never find the spirit any where else.

Hope u make the right decission that would make u're life better and "Mabrook" for the baby.

Have a great day!!!
Rania
