Housing Off the Beaten Track in Nepal

I would like to explore the possibility of merely renting a room in a house located outside the main population centers.

I'm used to living 'off the grid' - modern conveniences are not quite as important to me.

Semi-remoteness is good. I'm a wildlife and landscape photographer. I think cities are nice places to visit, but...

I would love to hear thoughts and information regarding this.

There was a Gurung type of dwelling with low roof and outhouse for about $10 a day in Lamjung in a village that was pretty remote as in more than an hour by 4x4.

I suspect there would be a lot of places if you look. We rented a house for our charity in Kalikot which is a tough trip for about $100 a month.
