Travelling to Tibet

Dear All,
Can anyone give me some advices or link me to the guys who have Tibet travelling (in particular Everest base camp trekking experience). Since I am planning to do the shortest trek to Everest Base Camp (max.5 days) in August, I am just wondering whether I should do it in a shorter time or extend the days due to the altitude sickness and other associated risks . Any first-hand advices and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
