The cost of living in Kenya (Nairobi) is very cheap and enjoyable. Don't only be limited to a few areas. Explore.

Unfortunately, some of those 'unexplored areas' are simply not safe for foreigners and there is a reason why expats live in westlands,lavington,kileleshwa,kilimani,hurlingham. 

The risks of living, or even visiting in other areas simply outweigh the benefits!!

Life most certainly isn't cheap in Nairobi for a foreigner, as the costs of living in the above areas are high and then foreigners tend to be charged more for many goods/services.  The often mistaken view that all foreigners are rich, just won't go away!!

I am totally agreed with you. People should see how beautiful is Kenya. I am here for very long. When I started my career in the beginning years, I choose Kenya.
If you don't spend unnecessary, you can have a good living for sure.
