Hi, I would like to know in Oman if teh vaccination for 6 month old baby is at FOC because recently i got relocated to Muscat from Dubai. In Dubai it was free as she was born in UAE. If its FOC what is teh procedure or where should i go for vaccination. Is there any documents to be preapred in advance before vaccination.
Anyone assistance on above matter would be grateful.

Hi Sharat_Mohan,

Vaccinations are provided free of cost only to those children who are born in Oman.

You would have to take your baby to a private polyclinic, or a private hospital only.

Hi, I am going to move along with my husband and baby to Ghubrah, Muscat.
Can you advise me which hospital is good around there?
I mean you may hear the pediatric reputation there is good..
Bcs I will bring my baby (still 5 months old) and need to continue the vaccination..
She was born in Indonesia, so I guess I cannot get it for free as you said...

Hi Larace,

There are enough and more private polyclinics and hospitals situated in and around the Al Ghubrah neighbourhood. As you are looking for vaccinations only, you can choose the one that is closest to your place of residence.

It would be more important for you to find a good paediatrician for the follow-ups. And to find a 'good' doctor would be a serious challenge. Suggest you do a visit of the polyclinics that you feel are convenient. Check out the doctors first hand before you decide on your preferred paediatrician.

Hi,

just to correct Mr.Sumitrans above comment, you get free vacations for your kids if you have residence visa, you need to go to your nearest Ministry of health ( health center ), for the registration you need to have the tenancy contract or any other valid document as proof of address. Post registration they will give you the vaccination  dates.
Also note that Ministry of Health (MoH) has made it mandatory for children to be certified fit by a doctor before they are administered vaccines.

thanks
G Thomas
