Salaries and Benefits

Post new topic

Hello there, I'm considering a job in the DR and I was told it is law to be paid 16 salaries in 1 year. Is that correct? Is that for everyone or just a company policy?

What are other benefits assured by law, if you work for a large company? In Brazil, for example, we normally have health insurance and basic transportation covered by the company, plus one extra salary yearly (totalling 13), 30 days paid vacation time.

Can anyone help with this info?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums.

Here is the benefits under the law

Work week is 44 hours

13 monthly salaries or equivalent

14 working days vacation after 1 year

Gov't prescribed insurance. Shared expense with Employee and employer.  Same with pension and worker injury fund

Transport is not a benefit or food under the law.

Paid days off for marriage, child birth and for deaths in immediate family.

Hope this helps. Any other questions I am happy to help honey.
