Naturalisation interview

katiemorag

Hi,
I will be shortly having my naturalisation interview at the prefecture in Rennes. Interested to know if anyone else has had one recently and if so, what type of questions were you asked.

Hi Katie Morag,
How did the interview go?

I'm about to have my dépôt de dossier meeting and have one question on paperwork.  Did you provide an "attestation bancaire" from a UK bank by chance and if so what did you ask them for.  I've just spoken to the Bank of Scotland and they only offered to send me duplicates of bank statements.
Many thanks.

Hi Katie.. how was the interview ? And what was your previous nationality?

Cheers,
Gab.

I just passed it & the interview went well, thankfully! 😊 It was a bit stressful at first, but the officer was quite friendly and made me feel comfortable. They asked me a lot about my daily life in France, like my job, how I integrate into society, and what I do in my free time.

For the history and civics part, I got questions about the French Revolution, the meaning of "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité," and who the current Prime Minister is. They also asked me about secularism (laïcité) in France, which I wasn’t expecting! 😅

I’m originally from Spain, and I was already used to speaking French, but I still had to prove my knowledge of French culture and values.

If you're preparing, I really recommend practicing with mock questions! I used this site to study, and it helped a lot.

Good luck with your process! Let me know if you need any tips. 😊🇫🇷
