Schengen Visa or Romanian Visa

Post new topic

Hello!

Good day,

Planning to visit Romania for holiday
but will also be traveling to Schengen member countries.
I will stay longer in Romania like weeks and other countries just days only. After visiting other countries, I will go back again to Romania as this country is my main entry and exit point back to Philippines.
Can I use Schengen visa for Romania or do I need to get a separate Romanian visa?

Thanks!

Romania is not in the Schengen zone, so a Schengen visa will be not good there.

The holders of Schengen visas with two or multiple entries, of national visas or residence permits issued by Schengen States are not required a Romanian visa to enter, transit or stay on the territory of Romania for 90 days in any 180-day period

Schengen is sufficient to visit Romania since several years. However, as in all countries, the police can ask you the address you will stay even if you have a visa, then it is good to have a print out copy of this information.
