UAE visa for Bahrain residents

Jack_London

Hi there - I’m a UK passport holder sponsoring my wife and 2 kids (also UK) here in Bahrain. My wife would like to take the kids to Dubai to visit friends and I understand she will need to apply for a visa beforehand now that she’s a GCC resident. However I’ve seen some stuff online which suggests she must travel with me as I’m her sponsor? Is that right? Any way round this?

Apologies if this has been answered previously - I tried searching but couldn’t find any recent posts.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,
If your a UK passport holder you are eligible for visa on arrival.

Thanks logical. Was just getting a bit confused as we’ve always just got visa on arrival (when visiting from UK prior to moving to Bahrain) but further down the page on the link you sent it says GCC residents must apply for a visa in advance. So wasn’t sure which one applies!

Cheers

GCC residents DO need to apply for a visa in advance and if she travels on a GCC resident visa then she needs to have her sponsor i.e. you, with her.

However, since you belong to a nationality which gets visa on arrival, you don't have to bother with the GCC resident visa.   This makes it cheaper and easier logistics wise.  If you didn't belong to a visa free nationality, then you would have had to follow the GCC resident path.

Thanks XTang

Hi

On the same topic…

If one is on a multi entry visit visa , can he travel to uae … or  rather can he apply from bahrain .

Understand that the site is for only GCC residents however any airlines or agency provides uae visit visa for bahrain multi entry visa personnel .

As said before, you would have to apply for a visit visa to the UAE.  The only difference between GCC resident and a visit visa holder is the cost of the UAE visa.
