Do I need a language certificate when I'm applying for a job ?

Hi everyone! It's so great that such a forum exists!
My name is Piotr and I'm an archaeologist (BA and MA) and an emerging conservator and restorer of works of art (I'll have an MA diploma in few weeks time). I'm planning to move to Qatar. Probably I'll have much more questions about many issues but today I have one - English is not my native language, so do I need some kind of language certificate when I'm applying for a job? Such as IELTS or CAE?
