Danish women landing in January

Post new topic

Hi :-)
My name is Maxine and I am coming to Da Nang in January to stay for 3-5 month. I would like to know more about the beautiful town and have as all new users of the country, many questions. A small place to live that is not to expensive, where to get new glasses, extension of visa and so on.
hope you would meet with me for a Coffey and have  talk :-)

Hi Maxine,
Looking forward to your visit! Feel free to ask any question you may have prior to your coming. Better to be prepared, even if I'm finding Danang pretty well stocked with everything you might need. And if there's anything you might miss, you are a less than 2 hours flight away from Bangkok or Hong Kong where you can find all the fancy brands and other premium services you might be looking for (custom lenses, professional eye exam, etc.) In any case of emergency, Danang's hospitals are well prepared, don't worry about that either.

For the visa extension, I'm not sure what you might need as a Danish citizen. Usually, you can get an e-visa (approval letter prior to arrival) and get the actual visa on arrival for 3 months (multiple entries if you're planning to travel around.) After this, you need to do a "visa run" (leave the country and enter again) You have many choices. Some people choose an 8 hour bus trip to Laos. But the most convenient one would be to fly in one of the countries around (visit for a few days, do some shopping etc.) When you come back is the same process as you did when you arrived (approval letter, visa on arrival) The best feature of Vietnam is its position, in the middle of SE Asia, with cheap flights everywhere you want to go!

Hi vlatoshi
Thanks for replying me. I look forward to Meeting you and Da nang :-)
I got a 30 day visa now and then I have time to find out how to make a 3 month visa when I am landed.
I think I would like to participate in some voluntary work, maybe cleaning up some of our garbage from the water or...It must be a way to be together with the locals and do something good with my time.
Other then that, I play poker, walk with my Metal detector and enjoy life :-)
I need new glasses and hope to be able to do that in Da Nang. Do you know anything about that?
Tell me a little about what you do with your time.
Smile from Maxine
