Where is the best area to live in Alicante

Hello all,

I am an undergraduate student from Greece and I am studying Computer Science and Engineering.I am going to do my Erasmus from January(2019) to June at the University of Alicante so i thought to start searching about accommodation and also what areas would be best to live in as a student.

I am a social person who want to meet other Erasmus and Spanish students and also to PARTY a lot.
I am searching about flats to share with other students.

I am thinking about accommodation in the University area since I believe will be easier to find other Erasmus and Exchange people who will be in the same situation with me.

However, I have read in many blogs that is better to stay at the center of Alicante than near University since the transportation at night is difficult . Seeing that all the parties and the clubs are in the center i thought that staying in center will be more convenient.

For those reasons i am a bit confused. So I welcome any suggestions.

Hi Greekin Alicante. I live not far from the University which is situated on the edge of San Vicent de Rasburg, a large conurbation about 5Km from the city centre. The last tram leaves Luceros (last stop in the centre) at 10.53 and the last bus out to San vicent de Rasberg from the centre is at a similar time, although there is an N24 which runs at nigh on Friday and Saturdays. A taxi will cost about 12 euros from the centre to the university. It's basically swings and roundabouts. You are likely to find cheaper accomodation in San Vicente de Rasberg and could probably afford taxi fares at weekends. Personally I wouldn't choose to live in the centre because it will be expensive and noisy buy hey I'm retired and don't go clubbing at weekends anymore. There are suburbs nearer the centre but not in it which might be a sensible compromise.
