Working conditions differ across the world, and as a working expat, it is important to know your rights as an employee.

Are working conditions standard in Maldives? For instance, are working hours, paid time off, and sick leave different for expats v.s. locals? Do they differ based on the type of company (private, public, NGO)?

Are there laws in place regarding physical conditions of the office, employee protection, etc.?

What are some resources in Maldives to inform people about labour laws and employee rights (websites, governmental associations)?

Have the general working conditions or labour laws changed in any way lately?

How do the working conditions and labour laws in Maldives differ from your country of origin?

during probation u can leave the company without any due. that why probation is there empoyer or employee to have three month before make a permenant employee.

48 hours per week or eight hours per day. It will depend on your employer and company policy.

i worked in Maldives during 6 months and due to new job offer also in Maldives I resigned. Now my new employer can’t still apply for my new work permit becouse previous employer didn’t cancel it yet, I ask them to cancel but they take time and not following my request and I have to start in new company soon, there is any law that can protect employee for such cases? What I can do to cancel it so new employer can make new one? Thank you in advance
