Hi friends
Im from south africa and im Thinking of moving to fort lauderdale, Florida but what visa/visas must I have ?
Another thing is do i need a work permit if I want to work on yachts in fort lauderdale?

Good day Travis,

Yes, you would need a work permit to work on a boat in Ft. Lauderdale if the boat is based or licensed there/in the US (as opposed to a foreign owned/licensed boat that periodically makes port of calls in the US). Furthermore, if you would work on the boat only during seasonal periods (sailing seasons) then you might be eligible for another kind of non-immigrant visa.

Travis - for seasonal work, like working at a ski resort or Disneyworld or on yacht during sailing/racing season, the visa would be H-2B.  Otherwise we would need to look at getting you a B visa for tourism/business to come and check out the living, social and job situations that you may want to pursue.

Tourism or Visiting visa is gonna be more easy for you and when you arrive  to  state,  i can help you get a residence permit that will enable you work... let me know if you are still interested
