Renting of own Hotel Department on working visit visa

Dear All,

Re; renting of own Hotel apartment on working visit visa.r

I have 2 questions and would appreciate an answer;
1. Am I allowed to rent my OWN Hotel Apartment on a  WORKING VISIT VISA/?
OR
2. Am I forced to use the Hotel Apartment as provided by the Company because I don't have an IQAMA?

According to my contract, I get my SALARY + SR2750 for accommodation + SR 600 for transport.
The contract says that I can let the Company pay the accommodation and transport of SR2750 + SR600
OR the company will give me that amount and I can get my OWN accommodation.

I was happy to get my OWN accommodation and transport to save some money and got a very nice Hotel Apartment for SR1800 per month and the transport for SR400 per month.

Yesterday the Company told me that NO I cannot do that because I have a WORKING VIST VISA and the Saudi Government said that ALL the Company's workers with a such a visa HAVE to stay in the SAME location. Is this TRUE ????

IF this is true, i have a serious problem as SR2750 is VERY expensive to pay for the horribly, small and dirty Hotel Apartment the COMPANY said I should live in for my stay in Saudi..  The SR2750 Iis part of my salary package and is therefore deducted from my salary every month. So I actually pay for that!! It seems  that the Company made a contract with the Hotel owner to charge us a ridiculous price and
we just have to pay!?

Please advise as, either way, the Company is breaking their contract with me.

Kind Regards and thanks

I think in an effort to control the movement of people, KSA government is trying to impose that, which works for partner hotels. You may also ask to know from the company if you could stay with friends

Thank you Phesap.
